Awkwafina is an American actor and musician who made her name with smart raps that addressed the issues of sexuality and race with a an edgy, comical perspective. Her career then grew into Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her first musical experience. She performed on the trumpet. Jazz, classical and hip-hop education began when she was just a teenager.
